unspooling AFTER DARK episode 25

Reading Chapter Two of "Viy" by Nikolai Gogol

The zany ending of “Viy” does not disappoint. If you thought Chapter One was a bit of a slow burn—which it was, but since it’s Gogol, at least the world-building was super engrossing—then you’ll be pleased to learn that Chapter Two is pure, unbridled madness from start to finish. The story’s climax, on the third night of Thomas’ vigil, is both vivid and unforgettable—truly one of my favourite scenes in all horror literature!

Enjoy,
