I am curious if the Women would have chosen, on their own, to become wives and mothers, is the maternal instinct so strong that the path to raising a family would have prevailed anyway? Had women been revered for their role in society and the building of families and generations, their value and contributions being recognized without prejudice, had they not felt forced into marriage and such for financial support and treated as a commodity…had they felt completely free to choose, would they still have preferred to be wives and mothers? Had the inequality been removed…what then?

I, for one, would love to see our culture develop a healthy sense of reverence for mothers! The historic devaluing of the kinds of labour that have simply been "expected" from women is a major burden we still carry to this day.
