What a fantastic tale and unspooling for a lazy Sunday afternoon! I grew up just south of Tarrytown, NY, site of Washington Irving's famous Legend of Sleepy Hollow, so this telling of Rip Van Winkle hit home, so to speak! I have always been familiar with the character of Rip Van Winkle, embedded as it is in the American vernacular; however, I had not actually read the story. What a treat.

The weird little mountain folk touched off in my head Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite "In the Hall of the Mountain King "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nMUr8Rt2AI !

You have a wonderful knack for making connections, and as a lover of history, I always enjoy hearing your analyses! Keep up the great work!
