Tripped you up!!! Hilarious this particular collection of stories actually forced me ( an avid reader) to actually read. The language was amazing for me it forced me to pay attention!

The glut of literature wow interesting take on today’s plethora of books!

I would agree there is a glut one must be discerning to pick and chose what one will decide to spend their time with. Always I would look for you cd every time!

Long live the internet. Accessibility to all works!

Wonderful reading of the work, and enjoyable unspooling thereof! I had similar thoughts about the advent of digitized literature and what that might mean in the context of Irving’s musings. From oral to written language to handwritten books to the printing press to modern mass printing to the jump to literature captured digitally, what do you think is the next step? I am going to say quantum, and can’t quite wrap my head around what or how that will be, although I suspect it might be as big a jump as any of the others.

I went along with Irving so eagerly up those narrow stairs into the library (what lover of books would not?) and let his deft imagery jolly me along into the charming colloquy with the diminutive Quarto, as I take that for the little volume’s name as well as a description. :-)

The discussion of crops which must relent to make way for the next planting applies not only to nature, art, books and literature in general, but of course to humans as well; indeed, all of life on earth. However, as we find ourselves in exponential evolution, able to theoretically capture and retain all of art and literature without preventing the next iteration, does that apply to us and to animals and nature as well? Will we manage not to destroy the planet and leap into the future or slide into a neolithic nihilism? Just a couple of things that flew across my thoughts in response. Thanks!
