He had promised to watch over them with care. But I guess I should have checked the terms and conditions first. Because, then, I might have noticed the clause that required he feel like it first or the subsection which listed the many activities he considered more important than keeping his word.

I felt like such an idiot when I saw what was left of them that I promised myself I would never trust him again.

But here we lie, his scent blanketing me like a shameful memory, wrapping me up and stealing me away.

So much for promises.
